HAIR REMOVAL

WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Laser hair removal is an FDA approved procedure that uses an intense, pulsating beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, the laser passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle, damages it, and inhibits future hair growth. It only works on hair that is in the growth stage, so please no plucking, waxing, sugaring, and threading. Laser has the advantage, in that you NEVER AGAIN have to let the hair grow out before your treatments. We kindly ask that you shave the area that you want to be treated prior to your first session. What you do not shave, we will not laser.

A consultation is necessary to determine if laser hair removal is right for you.

IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL RIGHT FOR ME?

Our technology is arguably the best on the market for both light and dark skinned clients. Lasers are most effective on darker-colored hair. We will not treat those with grey, white, or blonde hair. Red hair can be tricky depending on how much pigment is in the hair.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED AND HOW OFTEN?

On average, clients need approximately 8 treatments for the body and 8+ for the face. Individual results may vary.

For best results, sessions are separated anywhere between 4-8 weeks apart, depending on the area to be treated. Hair needs to be lasered in the active growth stage, and not all hair on your body grows at the same rate. If you’ve ever had threading or waxing services, you know that you treat the hair on your face (every two weeks) and the hair on your legs, arms, bikini (over three weeks) at different schedules. This is because hair in different parts of your body grows at different rates. This is why there is no cut/dry formula for the whole body. Some areas are every four weeks. Others can be up to 8 weeks.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL SEEMS LIKE A COMMITMENT. ISN’T THERE A QUICKER SOLUTION?

When you compare laser hair removal to traditional temporary hair removal methods – some of which provide results for fewer than 24 hours - such as waxing, shaving, depilatory creams, plucking/tweezing, sugaring, and stringing/threading, it doesn’t seem like such a commitment anymore. Since hair develops new growth with hormonal changes and age, some clients may need periodic maintenance visits.

WHAT AREAS CAN I TREAT?

Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the entire body except the area around the eyes.

DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

There’s discomfort associated with each pulse of the laser that is often described like a rubber band being snapped on the skin. The sensation diminishes quickly because our Candela GentlemaxPro machine uses a cryogen spray on the skin surface before each laser pulse to cool and protect the skin. Menstruating women may experience more sensitivity due to hormonal changes. We sell an anesthetic numbing spray for those that may want additional comfort.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL COMPARE TO ELECTROLYSIS?

Laser hair removal is much faster and less painful than Electrolysis because each pulse targets a 10-24mm area of the skin rather than individual hair follicles.

HOW WILL I LOOK AND FEEL AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Your skin may be slightly red - similar to a light sunburn. In the days that follow, please avoid any activity that may raise body temperature such as strenuous activity, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, etc. Some hair may appear to be growing. It is actually your body’s process of shedding and purging the dead hair beneath the surface of the skin.

TATTOO REMOVAL

HOW DOES TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?

A laser injects the skin with intense light, which penetrates the skin to break up the ink particles and leads to tattoo fading. The body's immune system will then remove these pigments over time. The laser energy is harmless, and only targets the pigmented skin, leaving the un-inked surrounding skin unharmed.

IS TATTOO REMOVAL RIGHT FOR ME?

Treatment is a safe and effective solution for all skin types, however a consultation is necessary to determine if tattoo removal is right for you.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED AND HOW OFTEN?

This is one of the hardest questions to answer. Each and every tattoo is different and there are many different variables such as: how old the tattoo is, how heavy handed the artist was in the ink placement, how quickly you heal, etc.

For best results, sessions are separated 6-8 weeks apart, depending on the area to be treated.

HOW BIG OF A TATTOO CAN WE TREAT AT A TIME?

Our guidelines per session are approximately half of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper

WHAT AREAS CAN I TREAT?

Virtually anywhere you can safely have a tattoo, you can safely have the same removed. We say virtually because there have been a few shockers!

DOES TATTOO REMOVAL HURT?

Yes, it does, but with the advancement of technology, the pain is manageable. We do everything in our control to make your session as comfortable as possible - from numbing to icing to giving you breaks. Most treatments are completed in minutes.

CAN ONLY PART OF MY TATTOO BE REMOVED?

Yes, absolutely! As much or as little as you want. During your consultation we will review what can/cannot be done.

ARE ALL INK COLORS ABLE TO BE REMOVED?

YES!! The PicoWay successfully removes all colors of ink. Even the most stubborn blues and greens

HOW WILL I LOOK AND FEEL AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Your tattoo may look grey-ish post treatment. You may experience some pinpoint bleeding and minor blistering. Keep the tattoo cleaned and covered with Aquaphor and a non-gauze dressing for the first three days. Open it only to clean

SUBLATIVE/eMATRIX

HOW DOES SUBLATIVE WORK?

The applicator delivers bipolar radio frequency energy via a matrix of 64 electrodes in the disposable applicator tip. The RF energy generates fractional deep dermal heating in the region of the electrode matrix to induce skin injury, and elicits a wound healing response. Striae (stretch marks) and acne scars as well as mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discoloration are reduced, and skin texture becomes more smooth and elastic.

A consultation is necessary to determine if eMatrix is right for you.

IS THE eMATRIX RIGHT FOR ME?

Treatment is a safe and effective solution for all skin types.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED AND HOW OFTEN?

On average, clients will see results after one treatment, however, depending on the area treated and the severity of the effected area, a series of 3 - 5 treatments may be recommended. Individual results may vary.

For best results, sessions are separated anywhere between 4-6 weeks apart, depending on the area to be treated.

eMATRIX SEEMS LIKE A COMMITMENT. ISN’T THERE A QUICKER SOLUTION?

When you compare the eMatrix with traditional skin tightening methods - face lifts, ablative treatmetns, etc. the down time associated with the eMatrix (virtually none), makes it a welcoming treatment for our clients.

WHAT AREAS CAN I TREAT?

The eMatrix can treat virtually the whole body, specifically, the face, neck, hands, and stretch marks on the waist, hips, thighs, stomach, chest, buttocks, breasts, underarms, back

DO eMATRIX TREATMENTS HURT?

There’s discomfort associated with each pulse of the device that is often described as a bite on skin. During treatment, many patients feel a warm, prickly sensation as energy enters their skin. After treatment a pink or red “sunburn” appearance and feeling is also common.

HOW WILL I LOOK AND FEEL AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Your skin may be red - similar to sunburn. In the days that follow, please avoid any activity that may raise body temperature such as strenuous activity, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, etc. The area will show small dots that will gradually fade in 2-4 weeks. Those dots should not be exfoliated, but should be allowed to heal and disappear on their own. You should use a high-factor sunscreen and protect the treated area from light during the entire course of treatment and for at least one month after.
