Laser hair removal is an FDA approved procedure that uses a laser to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, the laser passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle, damages it, and inhibits future hair growth. It only works on hair that is in the growth stage, so please no plucking, waxing, sugaring, and threading. Laser has the advantage, in that you NEVER AGAIN have to let the hair grow out before your treatments. We kindly ask that you shave the area that you want to be treated prior to your first session. What you do not shave, we will not laser.

Our technology is arguably the best on the market for both light and dark skinned clients. Lasers are most effective on darker-colored hair. We will not treat those with grey, white, or blonde hair. Red hair can be tricky depending on how much pigment is in the hair.

While you may have heard otherwise, on average, clients need approximately 12 treatments for the body and 14 treatments for the face, sometimes more. Individual results may vary.

For best results, sessions are separated anywhere between 4-8 weeks apart, depending on the area to be treated. Hair needs to be lasered in the active growth stage, and not all hair on your body grows at the same rate. If you’ve ever had threading or waxing services, you know that you treat the hair on your face (every two weeks) and the hair on your legs, arms, bikini (over three weeks) at different schedules. This is because hair in different parts of your body grows at different rates. This is why there is no cut/dry formula for the whole body. Some areas are every four weeks. Others can be up to 8 weeks.

When you compare laser hair removal to traditional temporary hair removal methods – some of which provide results for fewer than 24 hours - such as waxing, shaving, depilatory creams, plucking/tweezing, sugaring, and stringing/threading, it doesn’t seem like such a commitment anymore. Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the entire body except the area around the eyes.

There’s discomfort associated with each pulse of the laser that is often described like a rubber band being snapped on the skin. The sensation diminishes quickly because our Candela GentlemaxPro machine uses a cryogen spray on the skin surface before each laser pulse to cool and protect the skin. Menstruating women may experience more sensitivity due to hormonal changes. We sell an anesthetic numbing spray for those that may want additional comfort.

Laser hair removal is much faster and less painful than Electrolysis because each pulse targets a 10-24mm area of the skin rather than individual hair follicles.

Your skin may be slightly red - similar to a light sunburn.
