An Ounce of Prevention vs a Pound of Cure - Secrets to Anti-Aging

Some of life's problems are tackled as they come... others... not so much.

Ever heard of the saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?". Don't you hate it when those sayings are true?!

It's all about the babyface!When it comes to Anti-Aging - start early, start young, start in your 20's. Here are 6 reasons why you shouldn't wait...

  1. Fine Lines are easier to prevent, and it takes much less energy to try to prevent a wrinkle than correct one. Correcting a wrinkle or a fine line is a slow process that takes a lot of intentional damage via treatments to correct. Your best topical weapons are a daily sunscreen with at least SPF 40, and antioxidants that counteract free radicals and environmental aggressors such as the sun and pollution.  Make sure the products you are using are quality products. Cheaper is not always better.

  2. Even though it looks like they appeared overnight, wrinkles are an accumulation of scars created by sun exposure and damage. They're usually too small to see... until they aren't. Eating foods rich in antioxidants like berries and using products rich in vitamin A and C will help make a difference.

  3. You'll look more awake. Work hard, play hard, but don't show it in your face! Get some rest, and use plenty of moisturizer to keep your skin looking fresh and plump. Anti-Inflammatory foods like spinach, kale, and olive oil help improve the skin's condition

  4. Pore size - Exfoliating products can help with the appearance of pore size. While you can't shrink your pores with antioxidant-rich products, you can help decrease the appearance of them. 

  5. Anti-Aging products are good for acne - The same ingredients that keep skin smooth and even-toned can also help with adult onset acne. Exfoliating ingredients whisk away dry spots and dull dead skin keeping you looking young, supple, and fresh. Just make sure that the products you are using have rich ingredients and don't irritate the skin

  6. Help prevent skin cancer - Caring for your skin has way more health benefits than just looking young. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, one in five Americans develop skin cancer in their lives. Of course there is genetic predisposition, however, smart sun exposure is key to helping in prevention
